The greatest example of GIVING can be seen in the birth of Jesus, where the Word became flesh.

Giving is the act of giving one's own good to another person, and God gave himself to save us. He became a man, lived among the Gentiles, was flogged, slandered, and crucified for loving us so much. He is the greatest example of giving.

 

Furthermore, God in his scriptures reveals to us that there is greater happiness in giving than in receiving (Acts 20:35). We are encouraged by the Father to give, whether it be our time, our resources, talents, and abilities, in short, everything that God has given us.

We must understand that “giving is better than receiving” because we are much more blessed by giving than by receiving, and so we cannot stop doing good to people. God counts on us to share physical and spiritual nourishment.

When we are children, we are anxious about what we will receive on our birthdays, Children's Day, and Christmas, right? But when we reach a certain age, we begin to realize how pleasurable it is to be able to give something to someone, and we learn that we are more blessed in giving than in receiving.

 

May this act of God echo within us and may we be great givers in the lives of others.
