ABOUT US
About us
Amb is a legally recognized non-profit association.
The society began with a group of Christian volunteers.
It has a board of directors and a fiscal body, which support its social purpose and its members. Any Christian can become a member, as long as they agree with its purpose and have not deviated from the faith. Amb is a work of faith, and it only happens through the contributions that God sends to us.
On August 8, 1988, Pr. Peter Pauls wrote the following letter to the missionary-minded families living in Witmarsum and Curitiba.
The last commandment given by Jesus before his ascension to heaven was:
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20. We also read in Matthew 25:40 “And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’”
We have been doing both things to the best of our ability over the years. The work has grown, and God has been pleased with it. Therefore, it became necessary to found a missionary society. Our main goal is to bring people to Jesus and to help the poor in their needs. To this end, we offer support for self-help.
In this missionary society, we only have volunteers who have a missionary heart and the gift of service. After much prayer and long waiting, we see God confirming that we did the right thing by founding the AMB missionary society and by partnering with our brothers in Germany.
In 1989, we began supporting self-help, especially in family farming. We received the first containers from Canada and Germany, with clothes, household items, hospital beds and chairs, and many other materials. This gave rise to two projects that still exist today: family sponsorship and sponsorship of needy children. And so we began to spread the missionary vision.
In 1990, we received our first volunteer from Germany. We began to offer distance Bible courses, and scholarships began to be granted to needy children.
Over the years, we have realized that this missionary work is the result of many prayers. It is the secret of love and dedication to people who are lost without Jesus. The waves continue to spread. It is not a tsunami, but waves of charity and faith.
Today, Amb serves people with its many projects, such as:
Apadrinhe, which is a project that serves high-risk families and children.
Project: Service of Coexistence and Strengthening of Bonds, where it works with Children and Adolescents.
Project: Action Against Hunger, where lunch boxes are provided to needy families.
Project: Flourish, where mothers are cared for in the first months of pregnancy.
Here we encourage you to pray for the institution, and also for contributions to reach us, so that we can better serve our people in need.
May God bless you, and may God pour out upon you the richest blessings
